UMKC's chancellor is working to build a Community of Excellence.
Since I arrived on this campus, I have seen a lot that has impressed me. But nothing has impressed me more than the perseverance of our community — the faculty, staff and students of UMKC.
You have stayed true to your mission in the face of adversity, and you have achieved much while overcoming barriers. I am so proud to be a part of this community.
UMKC, our university, this place of light, must shine brighter still, and provide light for all. And to achieve that we must undertake the challenge to become a Community of Excellence. I truly believe that we can achieve this goal — and then some!
